VLC Media Player Portable 0.8.6h has been released. VLC Portable is the popular VLC media player packaged as a portable app, so you can take your audio and video files along with everything you need to play them on the go.

This release updates VLC to the latest version. It’s packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Suite. And it’s open source and completely free.

VLC media player is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, XviD, WMV, mp3, ogg, …) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols. It can also be used as a server to stream in unicast or multicast in IPv4 or IPv6 on a high-bandwidth network.
